360 and 3D Scenes
Step inside a 360 panorama and fly around it, drop a path through it, render that path as a 360 video, then look around any 360 video and take pictures of exactly the view you want.
What you need
The two halves come as plugins in the Model Library, under Plugins. Install only the one you use:
- 3D Scene adds Convert to 360 pano, which turns a panorama into a scene you can fly around in.
- 3D Scene path video adds Render path, which makes a 360 video along a path you drop in the scene. It is a large download, about 20 GB, so it is a separate plugin.
If you try a feature whose plugin is missing, Cubric Studio tells you and points you to the Model Library. Take picture in the 360 video player also needs FLUX.2 Klein 9B installed.
Get a 360 panorama
Any picture that is exactly 2:1 (twice as wide as it is tall) can be converted. The easiest way to make one is the 360 Panorama flow in the Flow Library: describe a place, or give it a picture and it paints in the world around it. You can also bring your own panorama.
Cubric Studio cannot tell a panorama from a wide banner, so it never converts on its own. The menu item below appears only on a still that is exactly 2:1, and you decide which ones are panoramas. Edit or upscale the picture first if you want to, then convert it.
Convert to 360 pano
- In the Gallery, right-click the panorama card and choose Convert to 360 pano.
- Wait a minute or two. The job waits in the queue like a generation, and you can stop it there.
- It lands as a new card. Your original stays an ordinary picture you can still edit and convert again.
- Click the new card to open it as a scene.
Fly around the scene
In the scene, drag to look around and hold a key to move. The camera starts where the panorama was taken, and Reset view in the panel takes you back there.
| Action | Keys |
|---|---|
| Look around | Drag with the mouse |
| Fly forward / back | W / S |
| Fly left / right | A / D |
| Fly down / up | Q / E |
| Roll left / right | Z / C |
| Fly faster | Hold Shift |
| Add a path point where the camera is | P |
| Longer lens (zoom in) / wider lens (zoom out) | Up arrow / Down arrow |
In a scene A flies left instead of opening Cosmo, and Q flies down instead of opening the queue. The status bar still opens the queue. All shortcuts are also on the Hotkeys page.
The Lens slider in the side panel does the same as the Up and Down arrows, in steps from 12 mm (wide) to 85 mm (long). Under it, a readout shows the camera's height and roll. The lens you choose is remembered, and the 360 video player uses it too.
Drop a path and render it
A path is the route the camera should travel. To make one:
- Fly to a spot and press P, or click Add point. A ball marks the point. The first one also adds the start, where the panorama was taken, because the video always begins there.
- Fly on and add more points. The balls are joined by a line that shows the route. The minus button removes the last point and the trash button clears the whole path. The path is saved with the card.
- Optionally type in the Steer the video box what the path walks into. Left empty, it continues the scene.
- Click Render path. It needs at least two points.
Cubric Studio prepares a guide from your path, then the video model (Wan) paints a 360 video along it. That last step goes through the queue and takes a while: about half an hour on a mid-range graphics card, and the panel shows an estimate when it knows your card. The side panel is free again as soon as the guide is sent, and the finished video lands as a new card in the Gallery.
The clip is short, about 5 seconds, and a short path gets a shorter clip. A very long path is allowed but shows a warning under Render path: the camera has to move fast and the video may smear. A shorter path renders cleaner.
The 360 video player
A rendered path opens in the 360 video player when you click its card. So does a 360 video of your own:
- Right-click a video that is exactly 2:1 in the Gallery and choose Convert to 360 video.
- It opens in the player straight away. Nothing is generated, and the card opens in the player from now on.
Drag to look around while it plays. Press Space or the play button to play and pause, Left arrow and Right arrow to step one frame, or use the scrub bar to stop on any frame. The video is played without sound.
Take a picture
Take a picture of any view you like:
- Pick the frame with the scrub bar and drag to look where you want.
- Choose the picture's shape under Frame: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 2.39:1. The frame on screen shows exactly what the picture will hold.
- Choose a lens. The arrow keys work here too.
- Click Take picture.
Cubric Studio renders that exact view, cleans it up with FLUX.2 Klein 9B, and saves it as a new picture card in the Gallery. If the video is playing when you click, it pauses and the picture is taken from the frame on screen.
